I don’t typically participate in memes, but Kate @ Suburban Sweetheart posted a video challenge that I thought was really fun! (Go visit her site and watch her video!)
We all talk differently. For me, I say words like supes and totes that my parents don’t even understand. And drives ManFriend crazy. But dialect and twang are different, and I love it. I am from West Virginia, and it’s true – we’re hicks out here. And I’m okay with that.
So watch, make fun, do whatever. But you should post your own video! And be sure to link back!
(PS.. Pleast don’t pay attention to the video still YouTube decided to attach. I’ve changed it, but it takes up to 6 hours. Oh, YouTube.)
Words: aunt, route, wash, oil, theater, iron, salmon, caramel, fire, water, sure, data, ruin, crayon, toilet, New Orleans, pecan, both, again, probably, spitting image, Alabama, lawyer, coupon, mayonnaise, syrup, pajamas, caught.
Questions:

2. What is the bug that curls into a ball when you touch it?
3. What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?

You don’t sound like a hick at all! I don’t normally love Southern accents, but yours is so soft & pretty! And I love that you can see, like, your train of thought throughout this video.
The other way to say theater is “thee-AY-ter.” I realized I say “sure” both ways, too. I think I said “shoo-er” in my video, but I also say “shurr” when I speak. And OMG “crown” as “crayon.” YIKES. And I’ve never heard the term “grandaddy longlegs”!
I’m glad you did this. We have different accents but much the same lexicon, I think. Except for buggy. 😉
Thanks, lady! I’ll forgive you for saying car-mel if you can overlook my saying buggy. 🙂

You have an iPhone 4. With a video camera. Retard. 😉
